The most representative attractions of the area are the Archaeological remains of the Pilkokaina Palace, old residence of rest of the Inca king, the Yumani Steps, which lead to the upper part of the island, and the Inca Fountain, a source of pre-Columbian water.

ITINERARY

Full day

We pick up the passengers from their lodging in the City of La Paz and we will start the journey on the asphalted road towards the Peninsula of Copacabana, to 4 hours approximately.  During the journey you will be able to appreciate diverse altiplanic landscapes of singular beauty, among which stands out the imposing and unique Lake Titicaca.

Once in Copacabana we will transfer to the port, from where we will leave by boat to the southern part of the Isla del Sol, located in the Bolivian part of Lake Titicaca, 1 hour sailing. In the port of Isla del Sol there will be a restaurant to enjoy a typical lunch: the Andean Apthapi. After lunch we will visit the most representative attractions of the southern part of the Isla del Sol.

We will start with the archaeological remains of Pilkokaina Palace made up of rooms entirely built of uncut stone and the steps of Yumani by which they can make an ascent of about 60 meters from the shore of the Sacred Lake. Finally you can see a beautiful fountain built with chiseled stones to which three jets of water converge and is now called the Fountain of the Three Waters or Fountain of the Inca.  After the visit, we will return to the Copacabana Peninsula from where we will depart for the city of La Paz. After the arrival, we make the transfer to the lodging or point agreed by the passengers.
